From an idea to a painting, from a painting to a logo… In The Woods formed organically over the course of a hot NYC summer. Matthew Kyle started the independent label as an outlet to release his own material without any restrictions on style and genre. The label is a channel for music with no boundaries: samples, edits, originals and everything in between. With no A&R restrictions, Matthew has set out to promote not only his own music but the music of like-minded producers who understand the ethos that slow is the new fast, and the deeper the rhythm, the better. This is music based on a groove, a feeling you get when your head sways back and forth like a tree in the woods.
