“CITY LIGHTS” (kostenlose Acoustic Soul EP)

Acoustic Soul ist ja gerade sehr in Mode. Man denke nur an Michael Kiwanuka und Maverick Sabre. Midé, der 20jährige Songwriter aus London geht auf seiner kostenlosen EP 'City Lights' ähnliche Wege und braucht sich vor den Genannten nicht zu verstecken.

Midé calls it Acoustic Soul and there is no denying the soul in the delightful songs and melodies he delivers. Ever since listening to “Continuum” and “Room for Squares” by John Mayer, a big influence in Midé’s sound, he has developed so much as a songwriter and you only need to hear his new single “City Lights” and new EP to understand. Midé also cites Israel Houghton, Eric Clapton, Jonathan Butler and a host of other greats (united by their expressiveness, soul and their guitars) as his inspiration.

Lemy Leopard - S.A.F.A.R.I. EP

Shorte Lisika Lemy aka Lemy Leopard wurde 1984 in in Paris geboren. Seine musikalischen Erfahrungen sammelte er mit traditioneller afrikanischer Musik, New Jack, Jazz, französischen Pop und HipHop. Mit Snoop Dog’s 'Doggystyle' und der G-Funk Ära begann Lemy zu rappen.

Im Laufe der Jahre perfektionierte er seine Technik und entwickelte seinen eigenen Stil in Richtung Deep House / Zaire House.

Sein erstes Album 'Visualizm' war in Frankreich recht erfolgreich. Sein zweites Album 'From The Jungle' wurde dann schon in ganz Europa wahrgenommen.

Jetzt erscheint auf Favorite Recordings seine neue EP 'S.A.F.A.R.I.'.

"Can't Kill a Dame With Soul" heißt das neue Album von KINNY

Auf ihrem zweitem Solo-Album haben sich die britische Ausnahme-Sängerin Kinny und ihre Musiker erstaunlich weiterentwickelt. Die gelernte Opernsängerin aus Kanada, die mittlerweile in Norwegen lebt, ist eine Sängerin und Songwriterin geworden, die aus ihrer Leidenschaft für Reggae, Jazz und Soul in Kombination mit ihrer klassischen Ausbildung einen ganz einzigartigen Stil entwickelte. Die warmen und souligen Songs auf "Can't Kill A Dame" sind vom norwegischen Studio-Wizard Souldrop, der schon ihr Debüt produzierte, kongenial in Szene gesetzt worden. Für mich klingt das manchmal ein bißchen wie Moloko zu den Do You Like My Tight Sweater -Zeiten, ein anderes mal nach Massive Attack oder den B52's, aber immer kommt der Sixties Soul und etwas Jazz durch. NuSoul? NuJazz? Im Endeffekt einfach gute Musik.

Sinan Mercenk's Deep- und Vocal-House Produktionen stehen für einen zeitlosen Sound, die bei House-Liebhabern aus der ganzen Welt zum Einsatz kommen.

Nach seinen letzten E.P. Veröffentlichungen wie der „Electronique E.P.“, „From A To B E.P.“ oder der „Summer Madness E.P. Feat. Karl Frierson“ legt Sinan Mercenk mit "Curiosity – Pandora’s Box” eine weitere Vocal-House Produktion nach.

Denn bei "Curiosity – Pandora’s Box” holte sich Sinan Mercenk niemand geringeren als die Sängerin Pat Appleton (De-Phazz) ans Mikrophon.

Mit ihrer beschwörenden Stimme entfacht er damit - scheinbar mühelos - die Pracht eines neuen funkelnden House-Diamanten.
